Desun Hospital Spreads Festive Cheer with ‘Desun Puja Parikrama 2025’ for Senior Citizens

Kolkata, 25th September 2025: Durga Puja, often described as the heartbeat of Kolkata, is a celebration of devotion, artistry, and community spirit that transcends generations. In a heartfelt gesture to ensure that senior citizens too can enjoy the grandeur of the festival, Desun Hospital, in association with Support Elders, organised Desun Puja Parikrama 2025.

Support Elders, an organisation led by ex-Indian Army personnel, provides comprehensive services to elderly residents across South Kolkata. As part of this unique initiative, senior citizens were taken on a guided tour of some of South Kolkata’s most iconic puja pandals. The ceremonial journey, flagged off from Desun Hospital, covered Bosepukur Sitala Mandir, Hindustan Park, Ballygunge Cultural Association, Samajsebi Sangha, and Rajdanga Naba Uday Sangha. To ensure the utmost safety and comfort, the participants were accompanied by a dedicated medical team and an ambulance throughout the route.

The celebrations culminated in a felicitation ceremony at Rajdanga Naba Uday Sangha, honouring the elderly participants for their wisdom, resilience, and contributions to society. The event was graced by Smt. Bidisha Kalita Dasgupta, IPS, Deputy Commissioner (South Suburban Division), Kolkata Police, as Chief Guest, along with Officers-in-Charge of Kasba Police Station, Kasba Traffic Guard, and Gariahat Police Station.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Shaoli Dutta, CEO, Desun Hospital, said,
“Durga Puja is a celebration of togetherness, and our elders are the true keepers of tradition. Through Desun Puja Parikrama, we want them to relive the festive spirit with the same joy as younger generations, while feeling safe, valued, and cared for. This journey is our way of honouring their place at the heart of our lives.”

With Desun Puja Parikrama 2025, Desun Hospital once again reinforced its commitment to blending healthcare with compassion, ensuring that the festive season is celebrated with joy, dignity, and safety for all.
