Bharat Chamber of Commerce Unveils Tagore Institute of Peace Studies with Thought-Provoking Session on Ethical Education

In a landmark move to promote peacebuilding through education, the Bharat Chamber of Commerce has officially launched the Tagore Institute of Peace Studies (TIPS) a pioneering platform for academic research, policy dialogue, and conflict resolution.

Held in Kolkata, the launch ceremony brought together a distinguished panel of thought leaders including Mr. Naresh Pachisia, President, Bharat Chamber of Commerce; Ambassador Anil Wadhwa (IFS, Retd.); Mr. Anil Swarup (IAS, Retd.); Mr. Sitaram Sharma, Founder President of TIPS; and Dr. N.G. Khaitan, Advisor, TIPS. The dignitaries underscored the critical need to institutionalise peace studies and emphasized the power of education in fostering harmony and global understanding.

The highlight of the event was an inspiring session titled “Education is Business: But With a Difference”. The session explored how modern education must evolve merging entrepreneurial ambition with ethical responsibility. Speakers advocated for an education system that not only fuels innovation but also instils values of empathy, inclusivity, and civic responsibility.

With the launch of TIPS, the Bharat Chamber reaffirms its dedication to peace, purpose, and progress laying the foundation for transformative learning and dialogue that addresses the complexities of today’s world.
