Kolkata: An evening filled with warmth, creativity and compassion unfolded as social activist Abhyuday Dugar and legal professional Vivek Jhunjhunwala hosted a special magic show and dinner for children associated with Prayas. The initiative, led by noted dancer and choreographer Avirup Sengupta, focuses on empowering children with special needs through art and creative expression.
The thoughtfully curated event brought together art, empathy and community support, creating a joyful environment where the children experienced moments of celebration and encouragement.
The evening was attended by distinguished guests including Dr. Devlina Kumar, Madhabilata Moitra, and Papia Rao, who interacted with the children and applauded the efforts of the initiative. Through dance and creative activities, Prayas aims to nurture confidence, emotional wellbeing and self-belief among special children.
A key highlight of the event was the felicitation of filmmaker Shrestha Ganguly for her contributions to art and social awareness. On the occasion, she introduced her mental health magazine “Florence,” a platform dedicated to encouraging conversations around emotional wellbeing, creativity and mindful living.
The magazine was formally launched by Dr. Devlina Kumar, marking an important milestone in Florence’s journey to raise awareness and amplify discussions on mental health.
Blending entertainment with purpose, the evening celebrated the transformative power of art, empathy and collective support, while reinforcing the importance of building inclusive spaces where every child feels valued, supported and inspired.
