The initiative honoured the unsung heroes working tirelessly at the grassroots level to strengthen healthcare services across rural Bengal.
The programme was graced by renowned actor and theatre and television personality Kaushik Sen as the chief guest. A key highlight of the initiative was the felicitation of 10 distinguished Anganwadi workers in recognition of their dedicated service, perseverance and commitment to improving the lives of rural communities.
Anganwadi workers play a crucial role in connecting families with essential healthcare and nutritional services. Beyond their regular responsibilities, they actively promote maternal and child healthcare awareness, encourage healthy practices, support early childhood development and contribute to the overall well-being of vulnerable communities. Their consistent efforts help strengthen preventive healthcare and build healthier family environments.
Through ‘Pujo Parikrama’, JIMSH sought to bring these often-overlooked contributions into the spotlight during the festive season, highlighting the values of compassion, community participation and collective responsibility. The initiative underscored the importance of recognising and empowering frontline workers who play a vital role in building a healthier and more informed society.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Krishna Kumar Gupta, Chairman of Jagannath Gupta Institute of Medical Sciences & Hospital (JIMSH), said, “Anganwadi workers are the unsung heroes of our healthcare system, playing a vital role in nurturing healthier mothers, children and communities. Through ‘Pujo Parikrama’, we wanted to recognise their selfless dedication and bring their invaluable contributions into the spotlight. We believe that strengthening community health begins with empowering and appreciating those who work tirelessly at the grassroots. This initiative reflects our commitment to building a healthier, more inclusive society, where the efforts of these frontline workers receive the recognition and respect they truly deserve.”
The felicitation reaffirmed JIMSH’s commitment to community healthcare and inclusive development, recognising that stronger communities begin with supporting those who serve them.
