Kolkata, September 28, 2026: The Government of Rajasthan hosted the Pravasi Rajasthani Meet 2026 in Kolkata, bringing together members of the Rajasthani diaspora, industry leaders, entrepreneurs and senior government officials to strengthen engagement with the community and highlight emerging opportunities for investment, enterprise and development in the state.
The Kolkata meet, organised jointly by the Department of Industries & Commerce and the Department of Domestic & Overseas Rajasthani Affairs (DORA), Government of Rajasthan, followed the meet held in Guwahati and was organised ahead of Pravasi Rajasthani Diwas 2026, scheduled for December 10. The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) served as the industry partner for the event.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Krishan Kumar K.K. Vishnoi, Hon’ble Minister of State for Industry & Commerce, Government of Rajasthan, called upon the Rajasthani diaspora to reconnect with their roots and contribute to the state’s next phase of economic growth. He highlighted the achievements of Rajasthanis across India and said their experience, knowledge, networks and entrepreneurial spirit could make a significant contribution to the vision of “Viksit Rajasthan, Viksit Bharat.”
“Congratulations to all those who have built successful enterprises and established themselves in other states. The vision of ‘Viksit Rajasthan, Viksit Bharat’, as envisioned by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, can be realised with your continued support and contribution. I invite you all to be a part of Rajasthan’s growth and development. Your roots are in Rajasthan, and your contribution can play a vital role in shaping its future,” Shri Vishnoi said.
Highlighting the state’s investment momentum, the Minister said that Rajasthan had received investment proposals worth ₹35 lakh crore in 2024, of which investments worth ₹9 lakh crore have been grounded so far. He added that a detailed report card on the state’s growth and development would be presented during Pravasi Rajasthani Diwas on December 10, 2026, while inviting investors from Rajasthan and across the country to explore opportunities in the state.
The programme began with one-to-one meetings led by Shri Shikhar Agarwal, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries Department, Government of Rajasthan, in the presence of Minister Shri Krishan Kumar K.K. Vishnoi. The interactions provided an opportunity for members of the diaspora, industry representatives and government officials to discuss investment possibilities, policies and areas of collaboration.
The event was also attended by Dr. Manisha Arora, Commissioner & Special Secretary, DORA and Commissioner, Rajasthan Foundation, and Shri Jugal Kishor Meena, Additional Commissioner, Bureau of Investment Promotion, along with other senior officials of the Government of Rajasthan.
Dr. Manisha Arora highlighted Rajasthan’s investment potential and outlined initiatives being undertaken by the Rajasthan Foundation to strengthen engagement with the Rajasthani diaspora across India and overseas.
Representatives of the Rajasthan Foundation, CII and leading industry stakeholders shared their perspectives on Rajasthan’s economic policies, investment opportunities, entrepreneurship and the growing role of the diaspora in the state’s development.
With its substantial human resource base, diversified economy and rich mineral resources, Rajasthan offers opportunities across a wide range of sectors. The government’s outreach to the diaspora aims to build stronger channels of dialogue between the state, industry and the Rajasthani community while encouraging investment, entrepreneurship, knowledge exchange and long-term participation in Rajasthan’s development.
The Pravasi Rajasthani Meet is part of the Government of Rajasthan’s broader initiative to deepen its connection with the Rajasthani diaspora across India and overseas. Through these engagements, the government seeks to strengthen both the emotional and economic connect between Rajasthan and its diaspora and create new avenues for collaboration and enterprise.
The initiative follows the inaugural Pravasi Rajasthani Diwas held on December 10, 2025, which brought together Rajasthani entrepreneurs, professionals, industry leaders and members of the diaspora. The next Pravasi Rajasthani Diwas is scheduled for December 10, 2026.
