Kolkata, August 5: The JIS Entrepreneurship Incubation Centre hosted its flagship ‘Made in JIS – Celebrity Edition 2026’, bringing together aspiring entrepreneurs, innovators and industry leaders for an inspiring discussion on entrepreneurship, innovation and the rapidly evolving creator economy.
The highlight of the event was an interactive session by Sharan Hegde, Founder & CEO of The 1% Club, Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia honouree and one of India’s leading personal finance creators. Addressing students, Hegde shared his journey from building a digital content community to establishing a venture-backed financial edtech company, offering valuable insights into financial literacy, personal branding, community building and scaling creator-led businesses.
The programme also featured distinguished speakers including Amitabh Ray, Former Vice President, Ericsson; Ankit Agarwal, Director, GTPL KCBPL and Founder of Blob; Sardar Simarpreet Singh, Director, JIS Group; and Jaspreet Kaur, Director – Corporate Relations, JIS, who shared their perspectives on leadership, technology, innovation and entrepreneurship.
During his address, Sharan highlighted how the creator economy is transforming entrepreneurship, encouraging students to leverage creativity, technology and digital influence to build sustainable and scalable ventures. He also explained how The 1% Club became India’s first finfluencer-led company to secure formal SEBI licences as a Registered Investment Advisor and Research Analyst.
An annual initiative of the JIS Entrepreneurship Incubation Centre, Made in JIS aims to nurture entrepreneurial talent by connecting students with founders, investors, mentors and industry experts. The Celebrity Edition further strengthened this vision by giving students an opportunity to interact directly with one of India’s most successful entrepreneur-creators.
