Kolkata, June 29: The RPA National Journalism Honour 2026 ceremony was held on Sunday evening at the Kolkata Press Club, celebrating the outstanding contributions of journalists from across the state.
The event was graced by Dr. Madan Chandra Karan Vidyalankar as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Amal K. Bhowmik and Debkumar De attended as Special Guests. Also present on the dais were Debjani Ghosh, President of the organization; Anup Kumar Bardhan, Founder and Editor; Shubhra Nayek, Assistant Editor; and Mousumi Bardhan, Cultural Secretary.
The programme was organized by the Reporters & Photographers Association (RPA) with the support of the Alok Foundation and the Indian Institution of Journalists.
A total of 10 journalists were honoured for their dedication and excellence in journalism. Among the recipients were Tushar Patowari, Molla Jasimuddin, Arup Guha, Gopal Debnath, Gopal Chakraborty, Karunamoy Chatterjee, Shyamal Talukdar, and Pradip Baral, among others.
Award recipient Molla Jasimuddin has been serving the field of journalism for over 25 years. Besides being a legal correspondent, he also serves as a Mediator at the Calcutta High Court. He has additionally worked as a Bench Judge during National Lok Adalats at the Howrah and Serampore Courts. He is also the General Secretary of the Kumud Sahitya Mela Committee.
The event was meticulously planned and coordinated by Anup Kumar Bardhan, Founder and Editor of the organization, with the support of Assistant Editor Shubhra Nayek, ensuring the successful execution of the prestigious ceremony.
