
London, June 26, 2026: The prestigious 3rd Bengal British Icon Awards, hosted by Baroness Uddin and organised by Candid Communication UK, was held at the historic House of Lords in the British Parliament, celebrating outstanding individuals and institutions for their exceptional contributions across business, education, healthcare, media, philanthropy, entrepreneurship and social service.
The grand ceremony took place at the iconic Cholmondeley Room and Terrace, bringing together an eminent gathering of policymakers, entrepreneurs, academicians, philanthropists and community leaders from the United Kingdom, India, Bangladesh and several other countries. The event was attended by distinguished personalities, including The Rt Hon Baroness Uddin, The Rt Hon Baroness Winterton of Doncaster DBE, former MP Virendra Sharma, Atique Choudhury, Khaleda Choudhury, Hasina Khan and Shila Rashid, while the proceedings were hosted by renowned broadcaster and former BBC and Sky News presenter Sarah Lockett.
Recognised as one of the most prestigious platforms celebrating excellence across the global South Asian diaspora, the awards honoured a distinguished list of achievers, including Sakuntala Sanyal (CEO & Executive Director, SBI UK), fashion designer Jaya Mishra, Soma Chakraborty (Goodace Hospital), Subrina Hossain (NTV Europe), Prof. Dr. Parvez Iqbal Haris, Dr. Syed Ragib Ali, Tapan Roy (ATN Bangla), Dr. M.P. Rozario, Satya Prakash Sangwan, Rajiv Sabharwal, Sanjoy Mukherjee, Prakash Ghosh, Dr. Chinmoy Roy, Sombuddha Ghosh, Sohani Hossain, Prof. Biswajoy Chatterjee, Prof. Satyajit Chakrabarti, Rajarshi Das and Ritesh Das, among others. A special posthumous honour was conferred upon Late Dabirul Islam Choudhury OBE in recognition of his extraordinary legacy of philanthropy and humanitarian service. The event concluded with an exclusive guided tour of the British Parliament and a networking luncheon hosted by Baroness Uddin, fostering meaningful collaborations among global leaders and award recipients.
