Global Master Chefs Converge in Kolkata for 10th World Food Competition Finale

The grand finale of the 10th edition of the World Food Competition (WFC) 2026 was hosted at the Guru Nanak Institute of Hotel Management (GNIHM) campus in Panihati, Kolkata. The event, organised under the JIS Group Educational Initiative, brought together 160 participants from 40 countries, showcasing global culinary talent, creativity, and innovation.

The prestigious international culinary platform witnessed the presence of renowned celebrity master chefs Sanjeev Kapoor, Kunal Kapur, and Dr. Parvinder Singh Bali. They were joined by Simarpreet Singh, Director of the JIS Group, along with other dignitaries.

Over the years, the World Food Competition has evolved into a major global platform connecting culinary professionals, industry experts, and hospitality students. The competition aims to promote culinary excellence, encourage innovation in gastronomy, and strengthen cultural exchange through food.

The three-day celebration featured international participants presenting signature dishes from their respective countries. The diverse cuisines showcased at the event created a vibrant display of global flavours and fostered meaningful cross-cultural interaction among chefs and hospitality professionals. Participants also interacted with the master chefs, gaining valuable insights into modern culinary techniques and emerging gastronomic trends.

In the final results of the chef competition, Dibyajyoti Saha from India secured the first position. Bonolo Lesupi from South Africa finished second, while Ni Luh Putu Aditi Satriani from Indonesia claimed the third position.

Speaking on the occasion, Simarpreet Singh said that the 10th edition of the World Food Competition celebrated culinary artistry and global collaboration. He added that welcoming talented chefs from across the world to Kolkata strengthens the spirit of culinary excellence and cultural exchange.
