In the blessed month of Ramadan, the family of the late Shaukat Ali Ahmed, former President of Solah Ana Kabristan, hosted a dignified and spiritually uplifting Iftar gathering in Kolkata. The event was organised by Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed and Sharafuddin Ali Ahmed at the late Shaukat Ali Ahmed’s residence near Solana Mosque.

The Iftar gathering brought together several distinguished personalities from different walks of life. Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim attended the event as the chief guest. Among the prominent attendees was Member of Parliament Nadeem-ul-Haq. Also present on the occasion was Naveen Kujur, Superintendent of Alipore Presidency Jail, along with several respected members of the community.

During the gathering, speakers highlighted the spiritual significance of the holy month of Ramadan, emphasizing the values of compassion, unity, social harmony and brotherhood. The hosts warmly welcomed all the guests and noted that the essence of Ramadan lies in promoting peace, love and solidarity among people.

Several other notable personalities also graced the occasion, including Dr. Siraj Ahmed, Waheed Ali Tony, Abdus Salam Raj, Feroz Khan, Zafar Ali, Manzoor Ahmed, Shakeel Ahmed, Qamar Bhai, and Abdul Qaiyum Ansari, along with many social, religious and community leaders from across the city.

Following the Iftar, a grand dinner was arranged for the guests, where attendees exchanged greetings of Ramadan and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening goodwill, unity and the spirit of brotherhood within society. The gathering reflected the true spirit of Ramadan, bringing together people from diverse backgrounds in an atmosphere of warmth, respect and communal harmony.
