The prestigious event was graced by His Excellency Shri C.V. Ananda Bose, Hon’ble Governor of West Bengal, who symbolically distributed scholarships to five meritorious students, acknowledging their academic excellence, resilience, and determination in the face of financial challenges.

The ceremony marked the formal launch of Jan Kalyan Trust’s ₹25 lakh education support initiative, which seeks to benefit nearly 50 deserving students through one-time grants and scholarships. The programme has been designed to reduce financial barriers, encourage academic continuity, and empower students to pursue higher education and long-term career aspirations with confidence.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Shri C.V. Ananda Bose said, “Education lays the foundation for a progressive and inclusive society. Initiatives such as these play a crucial role in nurturing talent, ensuring equal opportunities, and empowering young minds to contribute meaningfully to the nation’s growth.”

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Kunal Patodia, Treasurer, Jan Kalyan Trust, emphasised the Trust’s vision, stating, “Education is the most powerful tool for social transformation. Through this initiative, we aim to ensure that financial constraints do not obstruct the academic journey of meritorious students, thereby contributing to nation-building.”

The Trust actively works in the areas of education, skill development, livelihood promotion, and women and child empowerment, with a sustained focus on uplifting marginalised and underprivileged communities.
