A new chapter in spiritual service and social welfare began with the auspicious inauguration of the Kotulpur Swami Pranabananda Rural Service Centre, approved by the globally revered Bharat Sevashram Sangha. The centre was formally inaugurated on Tuesday, December 30, at the sacred premises of Shri Shri Durbashini Mata and Kashinath Baba Temple in Bagrol village, through a day-long spiritual and religious programme.
The inaugural celebrations were marked by a grand religious procession, Sadhana Diksha initiation, collective recitation of the Bhagavad Gita, and a Vedic Shanti Yajna conducted for universal peace and welfare. The programme also included traditional puja and aarti, creating a deeply spiritual atmosphere throughout the day.
As a reflection of the Sangha’s enduring commitment to service, educational materials were distributed among students, while blankets were provided to the underprivileged, reinforcing the organisation’s ethos of combining spirituality with social responsibility. The event concluded with the distribution of Mahaprasad to all attendees.

The programme was graced by the presence of eminent monks from Bharat Sevashram Sangha, including Shrimat Swami Omprakashanandaji Maharaj from the Sangha’s headquarters, Shrimat Swami Kumaranandaji Maharaj, Adhyaksha of the Bishnupur branch, Shrimat Swami Jitendriyanandaji Maharaj, Adhyaksha of the Khatra branch, and Shrimat Swami Bishokanandaji Maharaj, Adhyaksha of the Ranibandh branch, along with several distinguished guests.
Addressing the gathering, Vijay Kumar Dutta, convener of the programme, said that spirituality alone can guide today’s restless society towards the right path. He emphasized that inspired by Swami Pranabananda’s spiritual ideals and spirit of selfless service, the centre aims to function as a beacon of spiritual upliftment and community welfare. “Our objective is to involve people from all sections of society in this spiritual service movement and work collectively for social harmony and human well-being,” he added.
The inauguration of the Kotulpur Swami Pranabananda Rural Service Centre stands as a significant step towards fostering spiritual awareness, social service, and inclusive development in the rural heartland of West Bengal.
