As part of the prestigious Golden Jubilee Lecture Series of Coal India Limited (CIL), eminent transgender rights activist and renowned social worker Shreegauri Sawant delivered a powerful and thought-provoking address at Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL) on December 25, 2025.
The distinguished lecture, held from 3:00 PM onwards at the auditorium of Ramakrishna Mission, Asansol, was themed “Transforming Challenges into Strength: Lessons in Resilience for Corporate India.” The session aimed to inspire reflection on resilience, inclusivity, and human-centric leadership within corporate institutions.
On her arrival, Shreegauri Sawant was accorded a warm welcome by Md. Anzar Alam, Director (Finance), ECL. The formal introduction of the distinguished speaker was delivered by Shri Madan Mohan Kumar, General Manager (Mining), HRD, ECL, setting the tone for an engaging and impactful interaction.
Drawing from her extraordinary personal journey and decades of dedicated social work, Shreegauri Sawant delivered an emotionally resonant and motivational address. She highlighted the importance of resilience, perseverance, empathy, and inclusivity as essential values not only in personal life but also in building progressive, compassionate, and socially responsible organizations.
The event witnessed the presence of ECL’s senior leadership, including Md. Anzar Alam, Director (Finance); Shri Gunjan Kumar Sinha, Director (HR); and Smt. Deepti Patel, Chief Vigilance Officer, along with Corporate JCC Members, Corporate Welfare Board Members, Heads of Departments, executives, and employees. Participants actively engaged with the discourse, making the session both interactive and enriching.
The lecture served as a meaningful platform for introspection and learning, reinforcing Coal India Limited and Eastern Coalfields Limited’s commitment to inclusive thinking, social sensitivity, and human values, in alignment with the spirit of their Golden Jubilee celebrations.
The session concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Shri Ranadeep Bhattacharya, Manager (Mining), Human Resource Development Department, ECL, marking a memorable and inspiring chapter in CIL’s Golden Jubilee Lecture Series.
