December 2025:
ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Limited has announced the launch of the ICICI Pru Sector Leaders Index Fund, a new addition to its range of Unit Linked Insurance Plans (ULIPs). The fund brings together India’s leading companies across more than 20 key sectors, offering customers a simple, diversified, and rule-based route to equity investing.

Designed for investors who prefer a passive investment strategy, the new fund provides exposure to established market leaders without the need to pick individual stocks. It is well-suited for long-term investors seeking to build a core equity allocation with broad sectoral diversification and a tilt towards companies that have consistently demonstrated leadership within their respective industries.

The ICICI Pru Sector Leaders Index Fund is a passive, index-based offering that tracks the BSE India Sector Leaders Index. While regulatory provisions may restrict the fund from investing in all index constituents strictly in line with their weights at all times—potentially resulting in a tracking error—the fund aims to closely mirror the index’s performance over the long term. Dividends received will be reinvested, supporting compounding and long-term growth in fund value.

The launch also coincides with a significant milestone for the Company, as ICICI Prudential Life celebrates its silver jubilee, reinforcing its commitment to innovation and customer-centric investment solutions. The fund is currently open for investment.

In line with its mandate, the fund will invest 95–100% of its assets in equities forming part of the BSE India Sector Leaders Index, with up to 5% allocated to debt and money market instruments, including units of debt mutual funds, to meet liquidity requirements as per regulatory norms. The minimum investment amount is ₹1,000, with the option to make further investments, subject to applicable stamp duty.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Manish Kumar, Chief Investment Officer, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Limited, said:

“The ICICI Pru Sector Leaders Index Fund offers investors a simple and effective way to build wealth by leveraging India’s long-term growth potential. The fund invests in companies that define leadership across sectors, bringing together proven market leaders from over 20 sectors in a single, rule-based portfolio. An index fund removes th

e complexity of stock selection while offering diversified exposure to some of the most influential businesses in the economy.

At a time when markets are increasingly shaped by sectoral shifts and volatility, an index-led approach provides clarity, discipline, and consistency. Equities remain the only asset class with the potential to deliver inflation-beating returns over the long term. Available across our unit-linked savings products, this fund can serve as a strong core equity allocation, helping investors stay invested through market cycles and build wealth in a cost-efficient and structured manner.

Unit-linked products, by their very design, facilitate long-term wealth creation while offering cost and tax efficiency, enabling customers to plan for essential life goals such as retirement and children’s education.”

The ICICI Pru Sector Leaders Index Fund is available through several of the Company’s flagship ULIPs, including ICICI Pru Signature Assure, ICICI Pru SmartKid Assure, and ICICI Pru Smart Insurance Plan Plus (SIP+), among others. More details are available on www.iciciprulife.com.
