The Entrepreneur Premier League (EPL), a unique sporting initiative that brings leading entrepreneurs from across industries onto the cricket field, set the stage for its much-awaited 7th Edition with a spectacular auction hosted at a reputed hotel in Kolkata. The high-energy event witnessed enthusiastic participation from team owners and players, reflecting the growing popularity of the league.
Founded and conceptualised by Mr. Anand Gupta, Founder of Anand Financial Services, the EPL has emerged as a standout platform blending sportsmanship, leadership and business camaraderie. This year, the tournament expands to a total of 10 formidable teams—comprising 6 men’s teams and 4 women’s teams—each owned and represented by distinguished corporate figures.
The matches are slated to be held on December 13 and 14 at The Spring Club, where two action-packed days of competitive cricket and networking await the entrepreneurial community.
Speaking at the auction, Mr. Anand Gupta expressed his excitement, saying, “EPL was created for fun, entertainment and relaxation from our hectic work life. The last six seasons were a tremendous hit, and we all enjoyed every moment. We hope this season brings the same atmosphere with even more competitiveness and maturity. For us, this is not just a tournament—it is an emotion. We eagerly wait the entire year for this cricketing celebration.”
Highlighting the significance of sports in professional life, he further added, “In business life, we rarely get time for sports, though it was such an integral part of our childhood. EPL gives us the opportunity to return to the field, stay fit and relieve stress. Sports is truly one of the best ways to rejuvenate.”
This edition will feature a total of 16 matches in the men’s league including semi-finals and finals, while the women’s league will witness 7 league matches along with knockout rounds—raising the excitement quotient and competitive spirit to new heights.
