

Kolkata, June 18, 2025: ManipalCigna Health Insurance, a leading standalone health insurer in India, is set to double its presence in East India after registering an impressive 43% year-on-year growth in May 2025 the highest among all standalone health insurance (SAHI) players, according to data from the General Insurance Council (GIC).
Currently present in 42 cities across the region with an advisor base of over 10,000, the company plans to significantly scale up its operations by doubling its retail footprint, branch network, and agent strength adding another 10,000 advisors.
In FY25, ManipalCigna recorded over ₹130 crore in Gross Direct Premium Written (GDPW) in East India, with West Bengal contributing ₹55 crore+. Over the past three years, it has paid out ₹200 crore in health claims in the region, including ₹80 crore in West Bengal, highlighting its commitment to supporting healthcare needs during critical times.
