Yuma Energy Partners with Motovolt Mobility to Deploy 15,000 Electric Two-Wheelers, Accelerating Battery-Swapping–Led EV Adoption in India

Bengaluru / Kolkata, 5 January 2025:
Yuma Energy, India’s leading Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) company, has entered into a strategic partnership with Motovolt Mobility, a homegrown manufacturer of advanced electric two-wheelers, to scale next-generation electric mobility solutions across the country. Under the alliance, the two companies will deploy 15,000 Motovolt M7 electric scooters for fleet operations by the end of 2026, powered by Yuma Energy’s robust and fast-growing battery-swapping network.

The collaboration integrates Motovolt’s flagship M7 multi-utility electric scooter with Yuma Energy’s seamless battery-swapping technology, directly addressing key barriers to EV adoption such as range anxiety, limited charging infrastructure, high upfront battery costs, and concerns around battery performance and lifecycle.

As battery swapping decouples battery ownership from vehicle purchase, the partnership significantly lowers the initial cost of electric two-wheelers while ensuring uninterrupted operations. Motovolt’s M7 scooters will be fully compatible with Yuma’s expanding swapping stations, enabling riders and fleet operators to replace depleted batteries within minutes—maximising uptime and operational efficiency.

For delivery partners, logistics players, and fleet operators operating in high-demand urban environments, this translates into reliable performance, reduced operating costs, and zero-emission mobility, making electric two-wheelers a practical and scalable alternative to ICE vehicles.

Commenting on the partnership, Muthu Subramanian, Managing Director & General Manager, Yuma Energy, said:

“The Motovolt M7 is a strong and dependable machine, and we are delighted to power it with Yuma’s next-generation batteries and reliable swapping network. This collaboration strengthens our mission to build a rider-first ecosystem and fast-track India’s transition to electric mobility.”

Tushar Choudhary, Founder & CEO, Motovolt Mobility, added:

“We are excited to partner with Yuma Energy to unlock the true potential of green mobility for our customers, riders, and fleet operators. As a domestic OEM, we strongly believe that affordable and reliable electric two-wheelers can drive economic growth across urban and semi-urban India. Vehicles like the M7 are designed to be high on utility and long-term value. Through this collaboration, we aim to make clean mobility an integral part of everyday commuting and last-mile deliveries.”

Aligned with India’s national electrification and sustainability goals, the partnership also contributes to lower carbon emissions and cleaner urban transport systems. The combined offering provides end users with enhanced peace of mind, including lifetime battery warranty, improved vehicle uptime, and predictable operating costs.

With this strategic alliance, Yuma Energy and Motovolt Mobility are set to play a pivotal role in shaping India’s electric two-wheeler ecosystem—making electric mobility more accessible, affordable, and operationally viable at scale.
