Vasmol Marks Rath Yatra with Sudarsan Pattnaik’s Sand Art and Henna Crème Debut

Bhubaneswar / West Bengal, 27 June 2025:
In a heartfelt fusion of tradition and innovation, Vasmol, one of India’s most trusted hair colour brands with over 60 years of legacy, unveiled its latest offering Vasmol Henna Crème Hair Colour during a special cultural celebration in Bhubaneswar. The campaign launch, held on June 25 at The Mayfair Hotel, marked a unique tribute to the iconic Jagannath Rath Yatra, bringing together beauty, spirituality, and Indian artistry.

The event was graced by Padma Shri awardee and globally renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik, who collaborated with the brand to create a stunning sand sculpture symbolizing the transformative power of Vasmol Henna Crème Hair Colour. The intricate artwork, unveiled earlier on June 22, depicted a woman before and after applying the new hair colour one side showing visible greys, the other radiating naturally beautiful black hair. At the center stood the Vasmol Henna Crème pack, crowned by the three sacred Rathas, capturing the divine essence of the festival.

Accompanied by the brand’s heartfelt tagline “Surakshit rahe mera baal, Vasmol Heena Crème Colour ke saath” the installation beautifully blended faith, ritual, and modern beauty care.

Speaking on the occasion, Dheeraj Arora, MD & CEO of HRIPL (the parent company of Vasmol), said:
“For over six decades, Vasmol has been a cherished part of Indian households, closely linked to tradition and care. The launch of our Henna Crème Hair Colour signifies a new era where the care of heritage meets the ease of modern solutions. It is a testament to our continued promise nourishing beauty with trust and innovation.”

Adding to the brand’s vision, Priyanka Puri, Sr. VP – Marketing, HRIPL, shared:
“This campaign goes beyond product. it celebrates generational beauty, emotional rituals, and self-expression. RootedInVasmolHenna is about honouring time-honoured traditions reimagined for today’s confident woman. The Rath Yatra collaboration, including our symbolic sand art and traditional chamara ritual, reflects a powerful connection to roots while stepping boldly into the future.”

Padma Shri Sudarsan Pattnaik, reflecting on his creation, said:
“Sand is a soulful medium it tells stories that emerge from the soil and resonate deeply. Working with Vasmol allowed me to create a tribute that honours our cultural spirit while embracing evolution. This sculpture stands for transformation, just like the festival it represents.”

The launch of Vasmol Henna Crème Hair Colour an ammonia-free, henna-infused solution—marks a significant step for the brand as it continues to blend tradition with innovation. With the Rath Yatra setting the spiritual tone, Vasmol’s new campaign emerges not just as a beauty product launch but as a moving celebration of India’s cultural and emotional heritage.

As the chariots of Lord Jagannath roll forward, so too does Vasmol
