The Astor Kolkata Unveils Grand Durga Puja Buffet ‘Abar Elo Ma’

The Astor Kolkata is set to celebrate Durga Puja with a grand culinary offering titled “Abar Elo Ma,” a festive buffet that will run from Panchami (September 27, Dinner) to Dashami (October 2, Lunch) at its signature restaurant Kebab-e-Que.

The specially curated menu promises to bring alive the flavours of Bengal with a mix of nostalgia, tradition, and indulgence. Priced at ₹1699 inclusive of taxes per person, the buffet will be available for lunch (12:00 PM – 4:00 PM) and dinner (7:00 PM – 11:30 PM).

Highlighting the festive spirit, Mr. Amit Kobat, General Manager – The Astor, said: “Durga Puja is the soul of Kolkata, and at The Astor we have always believed in creating experiences that mirror the city’s festive spirit. This year’s menu is designed to revive memories of home-cooked feasts while presenting them with our signature touch.”

The elaborate spread begins with refreshing coolers such as Gondhoraj Doi-er Ghol and Kaffir Lime Pora Anarash ar Aada Diye Sorbot. Starters include Mutton Pudina Seekh Kebab, Murgh Kasuri Tikka, Loitta Macher Pituli, Bhhetki Macher Chop, Kolkata Cabin Style Chicken Cutlet, alongside vegetarian options like Ambala Paneer Tikka, Soya Mochar Cutlet, and Kadaisutir Chop.

The main course or Maha Bhoj features timeless classics — Purano Dhakar Mangsho Bhuna, Goalando Steamer Chicken Curry, Green Prawns Malai Curry, Shorshe Kancha Lonka Bhetki, Pomfret Tel Bori Jhal, and vegetarian delicacies including Chena Dalna, Panch Mesali Tarkari, Hing Pora Aloor Dum, Kadaisutir Dhokar Tarkari, Cholar Dal with narkol, and Bhaja Moonger Sabji Daal. Staples like Mishti Pulao, Steamed Rice, Radha Ballavi, Butter Naan, and Tinkona Porotha complete the spread.

The dessert table promises to be a showstopper with indulgences such as Baked Mihidana, Chenar Jelabi, Gondhoraj Sondesh, Laal Doi, Kesri Ras Malai, Risotto Rice Kheer with Nariyel, and ice cream with chocolate sauce.
