
Kolkata, February 19, 2026: The 10th edition of the Tata Steel World 25K Kolkata marked a historic milestone as over 23,000 runners gathered at Red Road on December 21, 2025, blending athletic excellence with powerful social impact. Recognised as the world’s first World Athletics Gold Label 25K, the event once again reinforced its identity as more than just a race — it is Kolkata’s largest movement for community welfare and collective giving.
Under the theme #ADecadeofDifference, the landmark edition mobilised 39 NGOs, 9 corporate partners, over 26 individual fundraisers, and thousands of citizens to collectively raise ₹45.68 lakh for diverse social causes. The fundraising campaign concluded on January 10, 2026.
Partnering with Impact360 Foundation, the event’s official Philanthropy Partner, the race strengthened its structured ecosystem of giving, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
A Platform Beyond Sport
Since its inception, the Tata Steel World 25K Kolkata has empowered more than 114 NGOs and facilitated fundraising of over ₹5.16 crore across sectors including healthcare, education, women’s empowerment, child rights, disability inclusion, environment, skill development, and community welfare.
Debashish Kumar, Dy. Chief Whip, West Bengal Legislative Assembly & MMIC, Kolkata Municipal Corporation, said the race reflects the city’s heartbeat, adding that it is “more than a race — it is Kolkata’s spirit in motion.”
Major General D.K. Singh, GOC, HQ Bengal Sub-Area, emphasised that unity through such initiatives strengthens both society and the nation.
Debashish Ray Choudhari, CEO of Impact360 Foundation, described the 10th edition as a celebration of participative sport and philanthropy, noting that the collective contributions surpassed previous milestones.
D B Sundara Ramam, Vice President – Corporate Services, Tata Steel, highlighted how the platform has evolved into a strong force for social good.
Shreepad Shende, Chief Marketing Officer of IDFC FIRST Bank, said the Philanthropy Awards honour individuals and institutions that convert compassion into meaningful action.
Vivek Singh, Joint Managing Director of Procam International, expressed gratitude to the city and participants for making the decade-long journey impactful.
Top Fundraising NGOs
Leading the philanthropy drive was Tata Medical Center Trust, raising ₹10.14 lakh to support the Phase II expansion of its 437-bed cancer hospital, ensuring greater access to subsidised treatment.
Childlife Preserve Shishur Sevay secured ₹8.02 lakh to strengthen inclusive education initiatives and purchase the Children’s Smart Centre property.
Dakshini Prayash raised ₹3.96 lakh to support holistic education, healthcare, and development for 25 children.
