An immersive celebration of women, culture, and empowerment brings Kolkata together
Kolkata, March 24, 2026:
In a heartfelt tribute to the women who shape and define Bengal’s cultural identity, Tanishq, India’s largest jewellery retail brand from the House of Tata, hosted a vibrant and emotionally resonant evening at South City Mall, celebrating the spirit of ‘Srijonis’—the creators and torchbearers of “Notun Bangaliyana.”
The event brought together over 200 attendees in a powerful showcase of appreciation, storytelling, and shared celebration. Visitors gathered to honour the remarkable women in their lives, creating an atmosphere filled with warmth, applause, and collective admiration.
Anchored in the campaign narrative “Srijonis of Notun Bangaliyana,” the evening encouraged visitors to pause and reflect on the inspiring women who have shaped their journeys. A specially curated Srijoni film, screened on a large LED display within the mall premises, drew crowds into an immersive storytelling experience, highlighting women as the true creators and custodians of Bengal’s evolving cultural ethos.
The event was hosted by popular radio personality RJ Nilanjana, who engaged the audience in meaningful conversations and invited them to share personal stories about the women who inspire them—be it mothers, mentors, friends, or colleagues. These candid exchanges transformed the gathering into a deeply interactive and emotionally enriching experience.
Adding a powerful artistic dimension to the evening, acclaimed actress Saoli Chatterjee delivered a compelling live spoken-word poetry performance inspired by the spirit of Srijoni. Her evocative narration celebrated the quiet strength, resilience, and dignity of Bengali women, capturing the essence of their everyday contributions in shaping and redefining the cultural fabric of Bengal.
Throughout the evening, moments of spontaneous applause and shared celebration reflected the emotional connect among participants, as audiences came together to recognise and honour the Srijonis in their lives.

The initiative by Tanishq successfully transformed a retail space into a cultural platform—one that not only celebrated womanhood in its many forms but also reinforced the brand’s commitment to meaningful storytelling and community engagement.
By blending emotion, culture, and interaction, the event stood as a tribute to the enduring spirit of Bengali women—celebrating their creativity, strength, and the countless ways in which they continue to inspire and shape society.
