
Kolkata, December 23, 2025:
Marking a spectacular culmination of the year, the Sher-e-Hindustan Iron Lifting, Yoga Dance & Bodybuilding Championship 2025 was successfully held on Saturday, December 20, at the Lake Town Open Stage, Kolkata. The prestigious, day-long championship was organised by Ashok Akhara Ek Byayam Mandir and witnessed participation from over 100 athletes representing five Indian states.
The championship was officially recognised by the Body Craft & Iron Lifting Federation of India and the Arm Fighting Federation of India, with support from the Indian Iron Lifting Federation. Competitors from West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand and Assam showcased exceptional strength, discipline and athletic excellence across multiple categories including iron lifting, bodybuilding, yoga dance and arm fighting.
Adding gravitas to the event, Dronacharya Honour was conferred upon world title holder Anirban Banerjee, along with Sourav Dey, Shukdeb Mondal and Shrimanta Mondal, in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the sport. All participating athletes were felicitated with the prestigious “Iron Man Award” by the distinguished guests present on the dais.
Prominent personalities in attendance included Amal Kandar, Milan Ghosh, Partha Chand, journalist Gopal Debnath, Sukumar Das, Pritha Chand, Ratan Saha, Nandan Debnath, Shweta Dubey and Gouranga Chakraborty, whose presence added stature to the championship.
In the competitive results, Falcon Fitness emerged as Team Champion, while The Golden Beast secured the Runner-up Team position. Sourav Das was declared the Highest Scorer, Anirban Mal clinched the Strong Man title, and the coveted Sher-e-Hindustan Title was jointly won by Shukdeb Mondal, Sourav Das and Deb Kundu. In arm fighting, Udayan Dutta claimed the prestigious Champion of Champions title.

The smooth and disciplined conduct of the championship was ensured by the dedicated efforts of the official team, including Amisha Raj, Anirban, Ayesha, Soujanya Dhar, Amar, Maheshwari and Sheetal.
The entire championship was meticulously coordinated under the leadership of Ashokraj, renowned Bollywood and Tollywood actor and celebrated bodybuilder. Addressing the media, Ashokraj stated that his organisation successfully conducted 14 competitions throughout the year, spanning district, state and national levels, and emphasised that the wholehearted support of the public made these year-long sporting initiatives a resounding success.
The Sher-e-Hindustan Championship 2025 stood as a powerful celebration of strength sports, athletic spirit and organisational excellence, reinforcing Kolkata’s growing prominence as a hub for competitive fitness and bodybuilding in India.
