The Calcutta High Court Club grounds came alive with energy and sporting enthusiasm on Friday afternoon as a volleyball tournament was organised for members of the legal fraternity. The event, marked by healthy competition and camaraderie, witnessed active participation from lawyers representing different bar associations of the Calcutta High Court. A total of five teams competed in the tournament, making it a keenly contested and engaging sporting affair.
The highlight of the tournament was the grand final, where Rising 18 delivered a commanding performance to defeat the defending champions High Court Rocks by a convincing scoreline of 25–13. With this emphatic win, Rising 18 emerged as the new champions, showcasing superior coordination, strategy, and determination on the court.
Rising 18 represents the 18 No. Bar Association of the Calcutta High Court. The winning team comprised advocates Debangshu Bandhu, Victor, Bishwajit, Ivan, and Kostav, whose collective effort and disciplined gameplay proved decisive in overpowering their opponents in the final match.
The tournament was not only a celebration of sporting talent but also an occasion to strengthen bonds among members of the legal community beyond the courtroom. The event reflected the importance of physical fitness, teamwork, and mutual respect among advocates.
Senior advocate Siddharth Goswami extended his warm congratulations to the victorious Rising 18 team, appreciating their spirited performance and commitment to sportsmanship.
