Kolkata 11 April 2026 :
In a significant political development ahead of the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections, the All India Momin Ansar Sabha has formally announced its full support for Mamata Banerjee and her party, All India Trinamool Congress.
The announcement was made through an official statement issued by the organization, underscoring its strong confidence in the leadership of the Trinamool Congress and its commitment to social justice and inclusive development. The Sabha praised the state government’s initiatives aimed at uplifting backward classes and marginalized communities, describing them as “commendable and impactful.”
According to the statement, the Momin Ansar Sabha will actively support all candidates fielded by the Trinamool Congress in the upcoming Assembly elections. The organization emphasized that its decision aligns with the broader interests of the Mumin Ansar community, which comprises backward classes, Dalits, artisans, and skilled workers—groups that, it noted, have benefitted from the state government’s welfare-oriented policies.
Highlighting its rationale, the Sabha stated that the policies and governance approach of the Trinamool Congress are best suited to ensure the socio-economic progress and empowerment of these communities. It also expressed confidence that under the continued leadership of Mamata Banerjee, West Bengal will maintain its growth trajectory and further strengthen its development agenda.
The official communication was signed by national president Mohammad Akram Ansari and national vice-president as well as West Bengal state president Abdul Qaiyum Ansari, reaffirming the organization’s unwavering political backing.
Political analysts suggest that this endorsement could add a new dimension to the state’s electoral landscape, particularly in regions where the Momin Ansar community holds considerable influence. The move is expected to intensify political activity and sharpen electoral dynamics as parties gear up for a high-stakes contest in 2026.
