ITC Sunrise Spices marked the grand culmination of its landmark initiative ‘Sunrise Pujors Satkahon’ with the launch of a Coffee Table Book that celebrates Bengal’s community spirit, creativity, and devotion through 250 unforgettable Durga Puja stories from across the state.
The launch event witnessed the presence of acclaimed actor and director Parambrata Chattopadhyay, popular actress Ishaa Saha, celebrated cultural personality Mrs. Sudipa Chatterjee, and renowned Durga Puja theme artist Mr. Anirban PandaIwala, alongside Mr. Piyush Mishra, Business Head, ITC Sunrise Spices.
This year’s Sunrise Pujors Satkahon initiative celebrated the vibrance of Bengal’s community pujas beyond Kolkata, inviting puja committees from towns, villages, and districts to share their unique stories. Over 1,500 puja committees participated, contributing narratives that beautifully captured the devotion, artistry, and collective spirit of Bengal’s festive culture.
The initiative culminated in a Coffee Table Book that brings together 250 inspiring photographs and stories — each a tribute to the traditions, creativity, and community values defining Durga Puja. From para-led initiatives and women-led committees to century-old rituals and neighbourhood collaborations, the collection offers an intimate glimpse into Bengal’s festive legacy.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Piyush Mishra, Business Head, ITC Sunrise Spices, said:
“Durga Puja is not just a festival — it is integral to Bengal’s identity, a celebration of devotion, togetherness, and artistry. With Sunrise Pujors Satkahon, we wanted to document the unheard stories of Bengal beyond Kolkata, ensuring that every para’s pride and creativity are remembered. This Coffee Table Book is not only a tribute to these 250 pujas but also a cultural archive that will preserve these stories for generations to come.”
Acclaimed actor and director Mr. Parambrata Chattopadhyay added:
“Durga Puja is among the world’s most unique cultural expressions, and its richness extends far beyond Kolkata. What impressed me most about Sunrise Pujors Satkahon is how it captures the unheard stories of Bengal’s towns and villages, where traditions thrive quietly yet passionately. This Coffee Table Book is a meaningful tribute to that enduring spirit.”
The event concluded with the recognition of the best pujas and the screening of a short campaign film tracing the journey of Sunrise Pujors Satkahon — from storytelling and public participation to the winner’s selection and the creation of the Coffee Table Book.
Through this initiative, ITC Sunrise Spices has once again reinforced its deep connection with Bengal’s cultural fabric, preserving and celebrating the state’s enduring festive heritage beyond Kolkata.
