The Association of Inner Wheel Clubs in India marked a historic milestone today with the grand inauguration of its 50th President for the year 2025–26, celebrated through a spectacular event titled The Arum Affair. Held at JW Marriott, Kolkata, the ceremony commemorated the Golden Jubilee of the association, highlighting five decades of dedicated service, sisterhood, and leadership in voluntary social work.
The Inner Wheel, the world’s largest all-women voluntary service organization, continues to uphold its motto of “Friendship and Service” through impactful initiatives across India and beyond.
The event was graced by esteemed personalities. The Chief Guest, Mamata Gupta, President of International Inner Wheel, led the ceremonial proceedings. The celebration was further elevated by the presence of two eminent Guests of Honour:
Padma Bhushan Dr. Mallika Sarabhai, globally acclaimed classical dancer and social activist, and
Dr. Ritu Karidhal Srivastava, celebrated ISRO scientist known as the “Rocket Woman of India”.
The Changing of the Guard, symbolizing the transition of leadership to the 50th Association President, marked a significant turning point in the Inner Wheel’s journey in India, celebrating the organization’s steadfast contributions to community service and women’s empowerment.
The Arum Affair not only reflected on the association’s legacy but also inspired a renewed commitment to societal welfare and global sisterhood in the years to come.
