IIT Kharagpur Clinches Top Honour at BCC&I–GNIT Technology Quiz 2026

Kolkata, March 9, 2026: A team from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur) emerged victorious at the 15th edition of the BCC&I–GNIT Technology Quiz – Inter College Quiz Fest 2026, held at Guru Nanak Institute of Technology, a JIS Group educational initiative.

The winning team, comprising Samyak Sheersh and Aditya Pal, outperformed participants from more than 60 colleges and universities across West Bengal, demonstrating exceptional knowledge in technology, current affairs, and analytical reasoning.

The second position was jointly secured by Arun Majumder of GNIT and Sneha Santra from Techno Bengal Institute of Technology. Another team from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur claimed the third place, underlining the institute’s strong performance at the competition.

The quiz festival was organised with technical support from Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), which served as the technical co-partner for the event.

The occasion was graced by several distinguished guests including Dr. Neeraj Saxena, Pro-Chancellor, JIS University; Dr. Swarup Kumar Mitra, Principal, GNIT; Surojit Roy, Co-founder & Head of Business Strategy, Bharat Plus AI; Abhishake De Sarkar, Career Coach, Author and CEO of Advent Education; and Sambit Dasgupta, Deputy Director, BCC&I.

Speaking on the occasion, Simarpreet Singh said, “The Technology Quiz goes beyond competition. It serves as a platform that stimulates curiosity, sharpens analytical thinking, and inspires students to engage with emerging ideas and innovations. Such initiatives celebrate knowledge while empowering young minds to think critically, collaborate effectively, and prepare for the challenges of a rapidly evolving technological world.”

The annual quiz has grown into a prestigious inter-college knowledge platform, encouraging students to test their intellect while fostering innovation-driven learning and healthy academic competition.
