Kolkata, 24 September 2025: Galaxy Health Insurance, India’s youngest standalone health insurer backed by Mr. Venu Srinivasan of the TVS Group and the family of insurance veteran Mr. V. Jagannathan, today announced its strategic foray into Eastern India with the opening of a new regional office in Kolkata. The move is aimed at strengthening the company’s presence across West Bengal and driving long-term growth in the region.
As part of its roadmap, Galaxy Health Insurance targets onboarding 1,000 agents and covering 5,000 lives across the state by FY26. The strategy is built on local hiring, community engagement, and a digital-first approach to health insurance distribution.

Galaxy Health Insurance, which received its IRDAI operating licence in March 2024, has swiftly expanded its presence nationwide. In its first year, the company has built a network of over 12,000 agents and provided coverage to more than 1.2 lakh lives.
Among its flagship offerings are Galaxy Promise, a comprehensive family health plan, and Galaxy Marvel, a distinctive product that rewards customers with premium refunds for maintaining good health.
The Kolkata regional office was formally inaugurated by Mr. G. Srinivasan, reinforcing the company’s commitment to deepen its footprint in Eastern India and establish a significant market share in West Bengal by FY30.
