Kolkata, 24th May 2025: Desun Hospital marked a historic milestone in Eastern India’s academic and inclusive landscape by hosting the inaugural edition of Aarohan 2025 – A Celebration of Excellence at the Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute on Saturday. The event was a first-of-its-kind platform honouring academic toppers and neurodiverse achievers, in a heartfelt tribute to resilience, talent, and inclusion.
The event was spearheaded by Ms. Shaoli Dutta, Director, Desun Hospitals Group & Desun Autism Therapy Centre, and Mr. John A. Bagul, a distinguished figure in the field of education. It brought together top-performing students from across CBSE, ISC, and WBHS boards representing ten of Kolkata’s leading schools, including South Point High School, DPS Ruby Park, Birla High School, Heritage School, and others.
Each student received a trophy, certificate, and an exclusive 15-year Privilege Health Card from Desun Hospital—offering complimentary bed and special healthcare benefits.
What set Aarohan 2025 apart was its inclusive spirit. Students from Manovikas Kendra, a pioneering institution for neurodiverse individuals, were also felicitated for their accomplishments in art, baking, music, and academics. Their presence added emotional depth to the event, with their stories of grit and grace resonating deeply with the audience.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Shaoli Dutta said, “Congratulations to all the toppers who excelled and to every child who inspires us. Aarohan 2025 is a tribute to every learner, those who top the ranks and those who teach us how to rise beyond limitations. At Desun, we believe brilliance isn’t always in numbers—it’s also in brush strokes, music, resilience and kindness.”
Aarohan, which means ‘ascent’, truly lived up to its name—championing not only academic excellence but also the spirit of inclusion and the power of diversity.
