Mumbai, August 11, 2025: Bank of Baroda has introduced three new international features on its Unified Payments Interface (UPI) application, bob इ Pay — UPI Global Acceptance, Foreign Inward Remittance, and UPI Services for NRIs — enabling seamless cross-border digital payments and remittances for Indian and NRI customers.
With UPI Global Acceptance, Bank of Baroda customers travelling overseas can make QR code-based payments directly from their Indian bank accounts in eight countries — Mauritius, Singapore, UAE, USA, France, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bhutan. Transactions will display amounts in both local and Indian currencies, along with exchange rates and applicable charges.
Under Foreign Inward Remittances, residents of Singapore can transfer funds in Singapore Dollars (SGD) to Bank of Baroda customers in India for family maintenance. Beneficiaries will receive the amount in Indian Rupees (INR) in their UPI-linked bank accounts on a real-time basis.
The UPI Services for NRIs feature will allow NRI customers to link their NRE/NRO accounts to the bob इ Pay app using a domestic mobile number during visits to India, enabling them to make merchant payments and peer-to-peer transfers through UPI.
For all three services, the per-transaction and daily limit is ₹1,00,000, similar to domestic UPI transactions.
Shri Sanjay Mudaliar, Executive Director, Bank of Baroda, said UPI had transformed digital payments in India and the bank was now extending its benefits globally through bob इ Pay International, offering greater flexibility and convenience to customers.
The bob इ Pay app, available to both customers and non-customers, has a registered base of 1.3 million users and can be downloaded from the Play Store and App Store.
