Australia reaffirmed its global leadership in Mining Equipment, Technology, and Services (METS) as over 40 leading Australian companies showcased cutting-edge innovations at the 11th edition of the International Mining, Equipment and Minerals Exhibition (IME) 2025, being held in Kolkata from 30 October to 2 November 2025.

The Australian participation has been organised by the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) in collaboration with Invest and Trade Western Australia, Investment New South Wales, Trade and Investment Queensland, and Austmine – Australia’s largest mining industry association, with support from the Department of State Development, Government of South Australia.

The Australian pavilion features a wide range of METS capabilities including consulting, exploration, mining IT, advanced equipment, environmental and low-carbon solutions, and quality and safety innovations.

Two major side events marked the occasion:

  • Australian Mining and Resource Investment Seminar, organised by Austrade, focused on building secure and sustainable supply chains for critical minerals and copper, backed by advanced processing technologies for clean energy transitions.
  • Symposium on Diversity and Inclusion in Mining, co-hosted by Austrade and Women in Mining India, highlighted women’s growing role and leadership opportunities across the mining ecosystem. An Australian First Nations delegation shared insights on advancing diversity and inclusion within the sector.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Nathan Davis, Trade and Investment Commissioner, Austrade, said,

“We are proud to be present with over 40 Australian METS suppliers at IME 2025. Australia is committed to being India’s trusted partner in building a safer, more productive, and sustainable mining sector. Through collaboration, innovation, and shared ambition, we are confident that the Australian METS delegation will open new pathways for growth and decarbonisation.”

Austrade remains dedicated to fostering partnerships and business linkages in the mining and resources sector between Australia and India, supporting both nations’ journey toward a sustainable and resilient future.
