Amity University Kolkata Holds Convocation 2025; Over 2,000 Students Conferred Degrees

Kolkata, 19 November 2025: Amity University Kolkata held its Convocation 2025 at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, conferring degrees upon more than 2,000 students from undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes. The ceremony underscored the University’s commitment to academic excellence, leadership development, and global preparedness. This year, 23 meritorious students were honoured with the prestigious Shree Baljit Shastri Award for exemplifying exceptional traditional and human values.

The event was presided over by Hon’ble Chancellor Dr. Atul Chauhan, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ashok K. Srivastava, and Hon’ble Senior Vice-President Mr. U. Ramachandran. Two distinguished industry leaders — Mr. Sanjeev Krishan, Chairperson, PwC India, and Mr. Rahul L. Kanodia, Vice Chairman & CEO, Datamatics Global Services Ltd. — were conferred honorary doctorates in recognition of their outstanding contributions to industry and society.

In his address, Chancellor Dr. Atul Chauhan lauded the graduating batch for their resilience and dedication, stating, “Convocation is a reminder that excellence must be pursued with empathy and purpose. Amity graduates have repeatedly shown they can lead with both intellect and integrity.” Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ashok K. Srivastava highlighted the transformative journey of students, noting that they leave as individuals equipped with curiosity, values, and the capacity to excel in a complex, evolving world. Senior Vice-President Mr. U. Ramachandran reinforced Amity’s mission, emphasising that the true success of graduates lies in their ability to innovate and contribute meaningfully to society.

Honorary doctorate recipient Mr. Sanjeev Krishan encouraged students to embrace purposeful leadership, remarking, “Progress demands both bold ideas and responsible action.” Fellow recipient Mr. Rahul L. Kanodia reflected on the synergy between technology and human progress, stating, “Future leaders must be agile, ethical, and technologically fluent — qualities Amity actively instills.”

The ceremony, attended by parents, faculty, alumni, and dignitaries, marked a significant milestone for the University as graduates prepare to embark on their professional and academic pursuits. Reflecting Amity’s global ethos, the convocation also celebrated cultural diversity, with participation from students representing various Indian states and several countries.

Amity University reaffirmed its commitment to fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and globally attuned learning environment—one that empowers individuals from diverse backgrounds to thrive and contribute to society with purpose and integrity.
