A.R. Rahman Joins Yamaha Music India as Brand Ambassador, Strengthening ‘Made in India’ Vision

Kolkata, 22 March 2026: A. R. Rahman, the Academy Award-winning composer and globally celebrated music icon, has been appointed as the Brand Ambassador of Yamaha Music India Pvt. Ltd., marking a significant step in the company’s long-term strategy to elevate India’s music ecosystem.

Rahman, whose work has been instrumental in taking Indian music to global platforms, embodies the vision of nurturing homegrown talent and expanding India’s cultural footprint worldwide. His association with Yamaha reflects a shared commitment to fostering structured music education and empowering the next generation of artists.

Leadership Speaks

Mr. Yamamoto Taketoshi, Managing Director, Yamaha Music India, emphasized the brand’s philosophy, stating that music lies at the core of Yamaha’s identity. He highlighted India’s rich musical heritage and noted that the collaboration with Rahman will play a key role in inspiring aspiring musicians while expanding access to organized music education under the company’s ‘Made in India’ initiative.

Adding to this, Mr. Ryoji Maruyama, Sales Unit Head, underlined Yamaha’s broader mission beyond instruments. He pointed to ongoing efforts such as workshops, school partnerships, and rural outreach programs aimed at building inclusive music communities across the country. The partnership, he said, reinforces Yamaha’s vision of making music accessible to all.
