Kolkata, 11 March 2026: The 46th edition of the PSPB Inter Unit Golf Tournament 2025–26, hosted by GAIL (India) Limited, was formally inaugurated on Wednesday at the historic Royal Calcutta Golf Club, one of the oldest and most prestigious golf clubs in the world.
The tournament was officially inaugurated by Shri R. K. Jain, Director (Finance), GAIL (India) Limited, who attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest. The opening ceremony marked the formal commencement of the much-anticipated annual golfing event that brings together top golfing talent from India’s public sector petroleum organizations.
The ceremony was also attended by Dr. R. S. Velmurugan, Executive Director, GAIL Corporate Office; Ms. Sabeena Chowdhary, Member Secretary, Petroleum Sports Promotion Board; and Sunil Kumar Meena, CGM (HR-A&M), GAIL (India) Limited, along with senior officials and participants.
The championship features leading amateur golfers representing major petroleum sector companies. Among the prominent players competing in this year’s edition are Sukhman Singh and Vinamara Anand from Oil India Limited, along with Anshul Mishra and Zara Anand representing GAIL, and Guntas Kaur from Oil India Limited.
The first round of the tournament will be played on 11 March 2026, with the competition concluding on 12 March 2026. The event is expected to showcase high-quality golf while strengthening camaraderie and sportsmanship among India’s leading petroleum sector organizations.
The championship will culminate with a Prize Distribution Ceremony on 12 March 2026, celebrating the outstanding performances of participating golfers and reaffirming the spirit of sporting excellence promoted by the Petroleum Sports Promotion Board.
