GNIHM Hosts Grand Food & Cultural Festival “AMALGAM 2026” in Kolkata

Kolkata, 7 February 2026: Guru Nanak Institute of Hotel Management (GNIHM), an educational initiative under the JIS Group, hosted its much-anticipated annual gala food festival “AMALGAM 2026”, celebrating India’s diverse culinary heritage and vibrant cultural traditions. The grand event highlighted the institute’s continued commitment to excellence in Hospitality, Hotel Management, and Catering Technology.

The festival featured an elaborate array of food stalls presenting regional Indian delicacies, innovative culinary creations, indulgent desserts, and refreshing beverages. Visitors were taken on a flavourful journey across the country, experiencing authentic tastes alongside contemporary interpretations crafted by budding hospitality professionals.

Adding to the festive fervour, the evening witnessed lively cultural expressions with music and entertainment, transforming the event into a vibrant confluence of gastronomy and artistic celebration that reflected the dynamic spirit of India.

The occasion was graced by several eminent personalities including acclaimed actor Anirban Bhattacharya, popular singer Rishi Panda, noted food vloggers, and distinguished guests from the fields of art, culture, and gastronomy. Senior leadership from JIS Group—Sardar Simarpreet Singh, Director, JIS Group, and Sardar Harinder Pal Singh, Trustee, JIS Group—along with other management members were also present, adding prestige and star appeal to the celebration.

Beyond its gastronomic showcase, AMALGAM 2026 served as a platform for students to demonstrate culinary craftsmanship, organisational expertise, and creative innovation. The festival fostered meaningful engagement between academia, industry experts, and cultural enthusiasts.
