The District Level Sports Meet 2025–26, organised by Mera Yuva Bharat, Kolkata South, in collaboration with Shiv Shakti Club and Kendriya Vidyalaya, Ballygunge, was held successfully on 17th and 18th January 2026 at the Kendriya Vidyalaya campus, Ballygunge. The two-day sporting extravaganza witnessed vibrant participation, high energy, and a strong spirit of sportsmanship among youth from across South Kolkata.
The event featured six competitive categories, thoughtfully designed to encourage inclusive participation.
For male participants, competitions included Football, Slow Cycling, and Kite Flying, while female participants showcased their talent in Tug of War, Badminton, and the 100 Metre Race. Each event drew enthusiastic crowds and reflected the growing interest in both traditional and modern sports among young participants.
More than 150 players from various parts of South Kolkata, along with students from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Ballygunge, actively took part in the meet. The participants demonstrated remarkable discipline, teamwork, and competitive spirit, making the event lively and memorable.
The programme was graced by the presence of Shri Uttam Kumar, Principal, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Ballygunge, as the Chief Guest, whose encouragement and support inspired the young athletes. Shri Bikash Chandra Pradhan, District Youth Officer, Mera Yuva Bharat, was also present and played a key role in motivating participants and ensuring the smooth conduct of the event.
Speaking on the occasion, the organisers highlighted that the objective of the District Level Sports Meet was not only to promote physical fitness but also to foster leadership, discipline, and unity among the youth. The collaboration between Mera Yuva Bharat, Shiv Shakti Club, and Kendriya Vidyalaya reflected a shared commitment to nurturing sporting talent at the grassroots level.

The District Level Sports Meet 2025–26 concluded on a high note with appreciation for participants, volunteers, and organisers, marking it as a grand success and reinforcing the importance of sports in youth development and community building.
