Under the development outreach initiative “Unnayaner Panchali” launched by the Government of West Bengal, an important programme was organised today at Ward No. 20 of Tikiapara, Howrah, where a comprehensive account of development works and welfare initiatives undertaken in the area over the past few years was presented before the public.
The programme began with a special prayer by the respected Imam of BB Mosque, who prayed for the region’s development, peace, prosperity and the well-being of its residents. During the event, local representatives presented a development report card, highlighting the achievements and performance of the state government in their respective wards.
The programme was attended by State Minister Arup Roy, along with prominent leaders including Rais Alam (Sunny), Central Howrah Trinamool Congress President Abdul Qayum Ansari, Sheikh Islamuddin Lala, former councillor Ismat Ara Begum, Sikandar Ali Khan, Muqaddar Khan, Manhar, Zafar Ali, Mohammad Hussain, Mohammad Zakir, Master Shamsh-ul-Huda, SK Jeetu, Shakeel Ahmed, Entekhab Alam (Laddan), Mohammad Shahnawaz, and several other notable figures.
Addressing the gathering, speakers explained that “Unnayaner Panchali” is a comprehensive document showcasing the developmental journey of West Bengal over the last 15 years since 2011, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The initiative highlights significant progress in areas such as employment generation, welfare schemes, infrastructure development, and public services.
The speakers emphasised that these development projects have directly benefited common citizens and contributed to an overall improvement in the quality of life. The programme concluded with an appeal to the public to actively avail themselves of various government welfare schemes and to extend full cooperation in the continued journey of development of the area.
