Kolkata, Saturday, 24 January 2026:
Gulf Oil Lubricants India Limited, one of the country’s leading lubricant brands, flagged off the Kolkata edition of the popular Chai-Pakoda Ride 2025, marking the third consecutive year of its association as the main sponsor of India Bike Week (IBW), Asia’s largest motorcycling festival.
The initiative is part of IBW 2025’s nationwide plan to conduct signature rides across more than 20 cities, reinforcing Gulf Oil’s commitment to India’s fast-growing biking culture and shared riding experiences. Over the last two years, the collaboration has brought together more than 12,000 riders and motorcycle enthusiasts, making it one of the most anticipated community-driven biking initiatives in the country.
The Kolkata ride witnessed participation from over 100 bikers, who assembled at Throttle Shottle, Rajarhat, before embarking on a scenic 50-km ride to RV’s MotoClub, Bhadreswar. Emphasising safety and responsible riding, the event began with a pre-ride briefing and safety drill, led by experienced IBW marshals. Riders were guided in groups to ensure smooth coordination, and all participants were provided with essential safety riding gear.
The ride concluded with interactive challenges, fun activities, and moments of camaraderie at the destination, celebrating the spirit of togetherness that defines motorcycling culture.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ravi Chawla, Managing Director & CEO, Gulf Oil Lubricants India Ltd., said,
“The Chai-Pakoda Rides have become a cherished ritual for biking enthusiasts, and we are delighted to bring another memorable experience to Kolkata. Our continued partnership with India Bike Week reflects Gulf’s commitment to creating experiences that celebrate passion, freedom, and the brotherhood of riders. These initiatives also help us stay closely connected with riders and reinforce the trust they place in the Gulf brand.”

Having completed its 12th edition in December 2025, India Bike Week has firmly established itself as the country’s premier celebration of motorcycling culture. Among its most loved traditions, the Chai-Pakoda Rides continue to expand their footprint, offering riders an opportunity to explore scenic routes, bond over shared experiences, and celebrate their love for motorcycles.
As a key build-up activity to India Bike Week, the Chai-Pakoda Rides continue to grow in scale and popularity each year, providing Gulf Oil with a strong platform to engage directly with India’s vibrant biking fraternity while promoting road safety, adventure, and community spirit.
