Lions MagNets Hosts Felicitation Ceremony and Healthcare Awareness Program at Kolkata Press Club

A healthcare awareness seminar along with a distinguished felicitation ceremony was successfully organized at the Kolkata Press Club on Thursday, December 11, under the joint initiative of the Lions Club of Kolkata MagNets and the Rotary Club of Kasba. The event focused on public health awareness, particularly addressing concerns related to influenza.

The healthcare session was organized by Techno India DAMA Healthcare & Medical Centre, with Hello Kolkata and Pragyan Foundation as associate partners.

The seminar was chaired by eminent gynecologist Dr. Ashok Roy, Co-Vice President of Lions Club of Kolkata MagNets, while noted pediatrician Dr. Romi Roy addressed the gathering as the guest speaker, highlighting preventive healthcare and seasonal illness management.

Alongside the seminar, the Lions MagNets Excellence Awards were presented to several accomplished personalities from diverse fields in recognition of their outstanding contributions. Awardees included Australia-based cricket coach Dr. Kaushik “Sunny” Dasgupta, meditation expert Dr. Suresh Agarwal, filmmaker Ranu Roy, senior journalist Gopal Debnath, social reformer Ashok Bandhu Chakraborty, dietician Prof. Dr. Ranjini Dutta, social worker Narayan Majumdar, wrestling promoter Shobhan Chakraborty, poet Sangeeta Das, advocate Basu Deo Agarwal, human rights activist Timirbaran Roychowdhury, branding consultant Tapan Ghosh, academic Dr. Seema Singh, singer Snigdha Sen, media professional Kaushik Chakraborty, and Guddu.

A special felicitation was accorded to Dr. Kaushik Dasgupta (Sunny)—Australian entrepreneur, certified cricket coach, and owner of the Sutton Derby Cricket Club (Australia). He was also inducted into Lions Club of Kolkata MagNets as Honorary Chairperson for International Exchange Programs, particularly in sports (cricket).

The event further witnessed the unveiling of the book “Daini” authored by acclaimed writer Namita Hasda Tudu, in the presence of eminent guests.

The entire program was smoothly conducted and anchored by Ashish Basak, Editor and Director of Hello Kolkata (3D News, Events, Films & PR), adding a dynamic touch to an evening dedicated to healthcare awareness and social excellence.
