Kolkata, 17th October 2025: Narula Institute of Technology (NiT), a JIS Group Educational Initiative, has brought pride to India by securing top honours at the prestigious BRICS Industrial Innovation Contest 2025 held in China.
A team comprising Dr. Bikas Mondal, Mrs. Sangamitra Layek, and Mr. Anirban Saha clinched the third position for their groundbreaking project “Autonomous Forest Intelligence Drone to Detect and Predict the Severity of Forest Fires.” The same team also earned the Outstanding Project Award for their innovative creation “Autonomous Solar-Powered Surface Skimmer with Integrated Water Quality Monitoring.”
Another NiT team, featuring Prof. Soumya Bhattacharya and Dr. Shambu Nath Saha, was also recognised with an Outstanding Project Award for their project “Underwater ROVs for Dam Fault Detection and Structural Inspection.”
