Kolkata, 26 September 2025 :
In a remarkable fusion of compassion and culture, the Jagannath Gupta Institute of Medical Sciences & Hospital (JIMSH) hosted Pujo Parikrama – Ananda Abdare Uma Darshan 2025 on 26 September, coinciding with the auspicious Chaturthi of Durga Puja.
At the heart of this initiative was a powerful pledge — to provide lifelong world-class healthcare support to underprivileged children from marginalized communities, ensuring that healthcare is not a privilege but a promise.
“True service transcends treatment — it uplifts lives. This Durga Puja, Maa’s blessings came in the form of purpose: to care for those who often go unseen. These children are now a permanent part of the JIMSH family. Their well-being and future are our sacred responsibility,” said Mr. Krishna Kumar Gupta, Chairman, JIMSH.
The event beautifully intertwined the festive spirit of Durga Puja with Bengal’s rich cultural ethos. Children and guests experienced the profound simplicity of Baul music, symbolizing harmony and spiritual truth. In a moving tribute, Baul Samrat Purna Das Baul was felicitated with the JIMSH Lifetime Achievement Award, honoring his extraordinary contribution to music and philosophy that has inspired generations. Along with the award, JIMSH extended its commitment to provide comprehensive medical care for the legendary maestro.

Through this initiative, JIMSH not only celebrated tradition but also reinforced its role as a catalyst for transformation—uniting healthcare, dignity, and cultural identity in a single vision.
