JIS College of Engineering (JISCE) celebrated its Silver Jubilee on Sunday, marking 25 years of academic distinction since its establishment in 2000. The grand event, held on the college campus, showcased the institution’s legacy of innovation, leadership, and contribution to technical education.
Over the last two and a half decades, JISCE has grown into a leading autonomous institution, offering ten undergraduate and multiple postgraduate programs. It has been recognised nationally for its pioneering student-focused teaching methods, notably becoming India’s first fully Flipped Learning Institute. The college has consistently earned accolades, including a place in the NIRF rankings for five consecutive years since 2020, a 5-star rating from the MHRD Innovation Cell, and the “EXCELLENT” band in ARIIA 2021. Its research community has contributed over 1,500 publications and 500 intellectual properties.
The Silver Jubilee celebration drew distinguished guests from academia, government, and industry. Among the dignitaries present were Prof. (Dr.) Tapas Chakraborty, Vice Chancellor of MAKAUT; Mr. Binod Kumar, Principal Secretary of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal; and Sardar Taranjit Singh, Managing Director of JIS Group.
As part of the event, JISCE honoured 25 eminent personalities for their contributions in various fields, alongside 25 headmasters and headmistresses from local schools. Additionally, 25 celebrated alumni were recognised for their professional achievements, while students received awards for excellence in academics and national-level competitions. The evening concluded with a soulful musical performance by artist Sradha Misra.

Speaking on the occasion, Sardar Simarpreet Singh, Director of JIS Group, reflected on the institute’s journey:

The Silver Jubilee celebration reaffirmed JISCE’s mission to continue advancing education, fostering innovation, and inspiring generations of students to become leaders of tomorrow.
