

Kolkata, 13th June 2025: The Sarboni Welfare Foundation made its official debut with a grand inauguration ceremony held at Taj, City Centre 2, New Town. With a mission to drive meaningful social change, the Foundation is set to work towards improving the lives of underprivileged individuals and communities across Kolkata.
The event witnessed the presence of Tapas Chatterjee, MLA of Rajarhat, Newtown, along with the Foundation’s esteemed directors Dr. Arnab Bose, Vaishakhi Das, and Indian filmmaker and actor Sudeshna Roy. Their collective vision emphasizes grassroots transformation and inclusive development.
Dr. Arnab Bose, addressing the gathering, stated, “Sarboni Welfare Foundation is born from the dream to make an impact on society and uplift the underprivileged. In Kolkata, we aim to touch as many lives as possible, addressing core social issues and community challenges.”
Vaishakhi Das Chowdhury shared her enthusiasm for the new beginning, saying, “We are excited to start this journey to bring healing, upliftment, and social reform. Our efforts focus on the rights of women and children, policy advocacy, and essential services like education, healthcare, legal aid, and economic support.” She also emphasized the Foundation’s commitment to helping women reclaim their voices and rescuing children from child labour, abuse, and trafficking.
MLA Tapas Chatterjee extended his support, stating, “I wish Sarboni Welfare Foundation all the best in its journey in Kolkata and hope it drives impactful social change.”
The Foundation’s goals are aligned with the development agenda of West Bengal, aiming to eradicate poverty, improve living conditions, and ensure overall wellbeing. With strong collaboration across sectors, Sarboni Welfare Foundation envisions becoming a driving force for sustained social impact.
