Kolkata, 13 May 2025 – The Jute Corporation of India Limited (JCI) has announced the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for the 2025–26 crop year, effective from July 1, 2025. The MSP for TD-3 (Middle Grade) raw jute has been fixed at ₹5,650 per quintal. Grade-wise MSP for both Tossa and White varieties ranges from ₹4,875 (TD-5) to ₹6,350 (TD-1), while Mesta/Bimli MSP ranges from ₹3,560 (M6) to ₹4,135 (M1).
In FY 2024–25, JCI procured over 5.05 lakh quintals of raw jute worth ₹252.38 crore, continuing its mandate to support farmers when market prices fall below MSP. To ensure widespread awareness, JCI is publicizing MSP rates via administrative notifications, village announcements, press releases, and digital displays.
JCI is also modernizing jute operations through initiatives like the Jute-ICARE Scheme, geospatial crop surveillance, and the launch of a Block Chain–enabled E-Auction platform. The “PAAT-MITRO” mobile app has been introduced to provide farmers with MSP information, purchase center locations, agro-advisories, and payment tracking.
To strengthen quality and training, JCI has established grading labs and is conducting training at Katwa and Kolkata, including the induction of new apprentice batches in April 2025.
JCI continues to promote eco-friendly jute diversified products (JDPs), aiming to reduce plastic usage and support rural entrepreneurship. The Corporation reaffirms its commitment to the growth and sustainability of the jute sector and farmer welfare.
